Hunt and fish on our family owned cattle ranch
covering nearly 20,000 acres in the heart of the beautiful Sandhills.
Whether you prefer stalking our native Sharptail Grouse or hunt the
wetlands and habitat areas for our abundant pheasants, I am sure you will
enjoy your stay.
Sandhills High Country was established in 2000 to share and promote some of the best hunting and fishing in the Sandhills of Western Nebraska. We believe in service to our customer as our main goal. Every client who has had the privilege to hunt here on the ranch or fish on one of the area lakes rich with trophy fish is excited to return. You will definitely not leave the table hungry, as my wife Bonnie is a superb old-fashioned ranch cook specializing in serving a delicious home raised rib-eye steak at the end of the day. We have a wide variety of habitat to challenge every bird hunter from young to old. We have devoted countless hours to build the type of habitat it takes for birds to thrive here in the hills and valleys. The grouse like the hills and alfalfa fields and the pheasant thrive in the heavier cover around the habitat areas and winter feed ground. We have a sporting clays tower capable of throwing all the various rocks and scenarios, duplicating any shot you may encounter in the field. Our deer hunting is equally spectacular with Whitetail on the north end of the ranch and mule deer to the south. Located in our south pasture is the tallest natural sandhill in Western Nebraska. We have in place a strict trophy buck only rule that is creating some spectacular buck deer in the area. If they don’t go on the wall they don’t go in the freezer. Our deer hunting however is currently booked for the 2002 season by the same group who has hunted the last two years. I will let the photos speak for themselves on our local private fisheries. Within a fifteen-minute drive are two of the best privately owned lakes abundant with trophy Northern Pike. It is not uncommon to catch your limit of pike over 10 pounds, and have your line broke several times in the process. I was asked if you could catch a master angler bluegill or perch, and I responded that I could not remember a fishing outing when we didn't catch several. I am currently having three perch mounted that all went over two pounds, and a good friend in the photo is having his twenty pound northern pike mounted. The biggest fish usually come through the ice, but early spring is super action in these large shallow bodies of water. If it is the wily coyote you are after there are plenty to call in or stalk. Call us about booking a hunting or fishing trip of a lifetime! |
